Hi I'm Dayna

I grew up in Idaho, Utah and Alberta Canada. I'm going to serve a mission in Guayaquil Ecuador. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the LDS church. I'm the youngest of 12 kids and I love big families. My parents are the most amazing people I know. I love them so much. I like playing the piano, playing the guitar, and singing. I have moved around quite a bit in my life going from the Western states to Alberta and back. Currently I live on a LDS Church ranch and it is my favorite place I have lived so far. I love horses and I enjoy helping with anything and everything on the ranch. I graduated a year yearly from high school and I spent a semester at BYU-Idaho. After that I lived with my sister in Provo Utah and was a nanny for her two kids. Since I was the baby of the family, after I left my parents decided to go to China and teach English through BYU. I have recently received my mission call to Guayaquil Ecuador. I am so excited to be able to help build up the Kingdom of God on earth and to serve the people of Ecuador.

Why I am a Mormon

As I have watched my parents, friends and family grow in the church I have seen how happy they are. I have also seen others in my family and some of my friends choose not to follow the church principles and I have seen how difficult their lives have become. There have been times in my life when I have questioned whether being a part of this church is a good thing or a right thing. Every time I question it though, something always comes and proves to me that this church is the true church. It is God's church. It all makes sense. God wants us to be happy and to return to Him and so He has made a path that, if we follow it, we can have these blessings. I believe this church to be true. I know it is. I have no doubt that God the Father and His son Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith and that Joseph restored this church, God's church, to the earth. I am excited to be able to share this belief and knowledge with others.

How I live my faith

As I grew up in the church, I have lived this lifestyle my whole life. My biggest example has always been my mom. No matter what anyone asks her to do in the church, she will do it. She always taught me to never say no to a calling. As I have watched her, I have come to know what I need to do in my life to help in the church. I live my faith by paying attention to others and helping wherever I am needed. I have helped in different musical aspects. I have taught lessons, given talks, helped with activities and parties and said prayers in front of the congregation. As I have helped in various aspects of the church I have come to understand it better and love it more. As I serve others I feel closer to my Savior. I try every day to do at least on service for someone else. Every morning I pray for an opportunity to help where I can and I also pray to be guided to someone who I can share my testimony with. Whether it is by serving them or by just saying hi. This has helped me live my faith in countless ways. I have been able to talk to people about my faith and share with them the things I know to be true. Every day I make mistakes and sometimes I know I do not live my faith to the best of my ability but I try harder the next day to do better.
