Hi I'm Spencer Fitzgerald

I grew up in California and I now live in Idaho. I love to swim.

About Me

My name is Spencer, and I have lived in Idaho Falls for 6 years. I am currently a senior in High School, and I love to sing in choir and participate in school leadership. I have done choir all four years that I have been in High School, and I enjoy it very much. Along with that, I have participated in Student Council, and have loved serving my classmates. At this time, I am getting ready to start my mission papers so that I can leave as soon as I graduate. I am really looking forward to it.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because this church makes sense to me. I know it is true, and I know that the principles and doctrines that we live are what Christ wants us to do. However, the main reason I live this gospel is because I have read the Book of Mormon. It truly testifies of Christ, and I have a testimony of the truth of this book. In my mind, the validity of the book is not up for debate. It is true. All questions can be answered in this simple, yet profound book, and it has countless times helped me through struggles that I have had. When I first read The Book of Mormon, I was at peace. I was filled with a sense of peace that I cannot find anywhere outside of this gospel. As I continued to read, everything was so familiar to me. I felt at home, and I finally began to understand the love that my Savior has for me. At the end of the book, I prayed to see if the book was true. At first I didn't hear anything. I waited and waited and I continued to pray. Still, I received no answer. Frustrated, I began to analyze the situation. I then realized that it had to be true because of the peace that I found as I read the book. Once again, I was filled with that peace. I was so happy that I began to cry. I realize now that the feeling of peace is the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost testifies of truth and comforts those that stand in need of comfort. I am a Mormon because my life is at peace. My spirit is at peace, and I know that the Savior loves me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying my best to live the golden rule. I try to be a friend to everyone and live as the Savior lived. Christ is the center of my religion, and as a result I strive to be like him. In church, I am the Ward Family History Consultant. I work on genealogy for my own family, and I also help those in the ward who need help with theirs. Another thing that I do to live my faith is I attend the temple regularly.
