Hi I'm Darren

I am from the great state of Idaho in the U.S.A. I am the son of a worm farmer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the son of a worm farmer from Idaho, we make our families living by buying and selling fishing worms. I was born and raised on sports and family. I am the 6th of 7 kids in my family and in my biased opinion I have the greatest family on earth. I'm currently serving a mission in Pirua, Peru.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because of many reasons but one in particular is the happiness that it brings to me. At a point in my life i wasn't living the standards of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I was on a path of addiction and loneliness that was surrounded by unhappy thoughts and actions. I found instant gratification in the things of the world, and because of that i was living only to be entertained. My conversion didn't happen overnight. My conversion happened over a period of about a year. I started my conversion back to the fold when I decided to start reading the Book of Mormon again, in particular I was reading about the blessings that Alma gave to his sons. At that time I came to the realization that I needed to get my patriarchal blessing,(a patriarchal blessing is a blessing that is given by a man who is ordained of God and has the keys of revelation, these blessings usually give direction to a persons life and give them a general idea of the blessings in store for them if they follow the commandments.) so with the help of my parent and my bishop I made an appointment to see the patriarch. The day of I fasted and prayed that the Lord would answer my questions "who will I marry? what will I do as a profession? and Will i serve a mission?" all three were answered. Not all of them were answered word for word but they were answered with blessings of peace that I would know when the time would come. Following this I began to make changes in my life and began to live more righteously. It did not come easy, it did not come right away but it did come through perseverance and love of God i was able to make the changes and live worthy of the happiness that comes through living the gospel. It is an everlasting happiness that cannot be gained through any other way but the living the gospel of Christ through the commandments of the Lord. I know the Gospel is true and I love the happiness that it brings to me and my family.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing the little things. I am a strong advocate of living righteously through small little acts of devotion. I feel that the most important part of my day is my prayers in the morning and my study of the scriptures every day. I feel that those little things allow my faith to grow and allow me to have a spirit of happiness that testifies, in my countenance, of pure joy and love that I have for all people.
