Hi I'm Skyler Horne

I live in Arizona. I have been called to serve a mission in Sapporo Japan. Sports are my life and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently enrolled at Arizona State University and going to school full time. Education is very important to me and sports are my passion. I've been playing football my entire life and now I coach it too. My family is the best part of my life and don't know where I would be without them.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents are LDS, and I have been a member of this church since I was 8 years old. I have been blessed with a mother and father who love me, and 3 younger brothers and 1 younger sister who I have the privilege to go through life with. My testimony in the Savior and His gospel is strong and unshakeable, but it has not always been that way. My youngest brother, Easton, was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 2. He is now 8 and has gradually gotten worse. I have found myself questioning why this happened to me and my family, and how come after all of the prayers and blessings nothing has changed. At my lowest point in this process I read a scripture, Alma 36:3, that changed my heart. I felt the spirit and through the words of that scripture realized that I need to trust the Lord--that he has a plan for Easton. I know that this is true, and that our Heavenly Father loves each and every one of us. I know that Jesus Christ is my redeemer, and that it is through him that we can find peace and joy in this life. This gospel has allowed me to become closer to my family, my Savior, and my Father in heaven. For that I am eternally grateful.

How I live my faith

I live my faith not by moving mountains, but by doing the little things. I attend church weekly, and participate in institute at ASU. I strive to live my life as my Savior has shown me. I do this by communicating through prayer with my Heavenly Father, reading the words of Christ and his prophets, and setting a good example to my younger siblings and those around me.
