Hi I'm Heather Hill

I have lived in Utah all my life. I am the mother of four. I am a homemaker and respite provider. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being a stay at home mom. I am a green belt in karate. I love spending time with my family, close and extended. My family is my life. I am addicted to pictures. I love family pictures and have over 14,000 of them currently on my phone. I love family history in that I love stories and pictures and heirlooms. I am not good with the family tree work sheets and all but I love the people aspect. Why grandma so and so dyed her hair orange and why uncle so and so went into the army. That fascinates me. I have been through a divorce but have since married an amazing man who I love more than anything. I am so grateful that through the restoration of the gospel we are able to be sealed for time and all eternity. What is life even worth living for if you don't get to be with your family forever? There is a purpose and it's family. I love the outdoors and nature. Yellowstone National Park is one of my favorite places to be. I am a dog lover. I have two that are treated like family. I love to read and the Book of Mormon is my all time favorite book.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the way the gospel of Jesus Christ makes me feel. I have self worth. The teachings of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints answers all my questions, it gives me purpose and it tells me who I am. I am a daughter of a loving Heavenly Father. I know where I am going and the gospel of Jesus Christ tells me how to get there. I have come to have a testimony of so many aspects of the gospel. One being the wearing of sacred garments as a protection. I was out doing yard work one day and was not paying attention. I was running a chainsaw, not a good time to get distracted. I felt a tingle on my leg and realized that the chainsaw was against my leg and still very much on. I hurried and turned it off. I did not even have a scratch on my leg. My pants we're tore up and my garment had three tiny holes. I know that my leg should have been shorn off or tore up but I was not injured. I know it was because of me keeping my covenants that I had made with The Lord. I also know that if you pay your tithing The Lord will meet your needs. You may not have all you want but you will never go without. This has been proven to me many times over the course of my life. I know that this church is operated with the same power and under the same authority as was the Church Christ founded when He walked amount men. I know the only way to return to my Father is by following Christ, who is the head of this church. It is the only church with the power of the priesthood and with a living prophet called of God.

How I live my faith

I love to teach children. I love to teach mine and those in my neighborhood. I have mostly been asked to teach the young ones in my ward and I love every minute of it. I love the special spirit that little children have and their unconditional love. They don't judge or mock but really want to listen and learn. I try to teach more by example than by word as I know that sinks deeper into the heart and lasts longer. I try to be trustworthy and to be honest at all times so that I can be a comfort to those around me. I want them to know that I will follow through with what I say and that I am sincere. I live my life by the spirit. I listen constantly for that still small voice to guide me and help me with situations. I know that I am never alone and I draw from that continually so that I may help those that may not know they need it or do not want to ask. I make sure we have family home evening once a week and family prayer every night as I know the strength that is gained by unity with The Lord and each other. I support my husband in his callings and the lessons he gives. I know that without support we all get discouraged and he has so much to give. I know he can touch so many if he believes in himself as much as The Lord believes in him. I stay at home with my children at the counsel of our leaders. I know it has helped keep my family strong and will continue to. There is so much I would miss, so many opportunities to teach, if I had chosen another path.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Heather Hill
The miracle of reproduction and birth. The workings of a heart or a lung or any organ in your body. How your eyes, ears, nose operate. All these things point to some very skilled organizational work. These things could not work in perfect harmony by chance. The body and how it is made is the power of God in its top form. Also, what would be the purpose. It is a law of life that things have a proper order and purpose. Everything does. So to think that we have no real purpose down here would be illogical and impractical. Eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we die has no sense and no purpose. If we are governed by laws then someone has to be the law giver. Even science has to go by certain laws. And those Laws, that purpose comes from a loving Father in Heaven who watches over His children. Show more Show less
