Hi I'm Heather Mathis

I am from Utah. I am a licensed hairdresser. I love hiking and running. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah. I am a licensed hairdresser and a full-time missionary. I love any form of art or music. I play the piano, a little bit of the guitar and I have always enjoyed singing in choirs whether they be church related or school choirs. I love being outdoors hiking, biking, running, or boating. I enjoy hard work because I love the feel of a job well done.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Mormon church. Although I have always been taught the teachings and doctrines of the gospel I did not always believe. I came to know of the truthfulness of the church the same way a young boy named Joseph Smith did in 1820, I prayed and asked my Father in Heaven if the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was the true church. I received my answer one night as a sang in the Utah Valley Children's Choir the song All Creatures of Our God and King. Before that night I had been having some doubts as to whether or not the church was actually true. But as I sang, I knew with all my heart that God loved me and that the LDS church is indeed the correct church. I could feel the Holy Ghost testifying to me of what I have always known, that Christ lives, and He loved each of us enough to die for us. I know that he did appear to Joseph Smith and I rejoice in that glorious fact. I love this gospel. Every time I read the Book of Mormon I am reminded of the reason why I still serve the Lord, because He does live, and He does answer prayers, and He has answered mine.

How I live my faith

I am a full-time missionary for the Church. Before my mission I served in my home-town ward playing the piano for the children during singing time. I enjoy doing community service. When I was younger I sang in the Utah Valley Children's Choir a LDS choir that "sings for the Lord." I try every day to be like Jesus Christ, He is my divine example.
