Hi I'm Jacob Malone

I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada in the United States. I moved to the state of Utah when I was 11. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I will soon be going on a 2 year mission to Tokyo, Japan. I am very excited to meet these people! I want to one day be an orthodontist. I have been taking dental assisting classes while in high school. I work at a place that makes the best fresh fruit smoothies and have enjoyed meeting different people while working there. Living in Utah, we have the best snow. I love to snowboard and ski, and mountain climb. I come from a family of 11 kids: I have 4 brothers and 6 sisters. My father passed away when I was 8 years old. He was a doctor so we were all raised without thinking twice about someone showing up at our front door, needing stitches, or because they were sick. Our family room became sort of an emergency room at times. With that many kids in one family, we owned a bus/motorhome that we traveled in for our vacations. We had so many fun, and challenging, experiences in the many years we had it.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was baptized when I was 8 years old by a young man who was a friend of our family and a recent convert. I have continued to be very active in this church, because I know the teachings are true. We are led by a living prophet today, who currently speaks with our Father in Heaven, and then directs the affairs of the church today. I know that Jesus Christ is the son of our Heavenly Father. He is separate and distinct. He is the Savior of the world, and my older brother. I know He loves me and is concerned about everything I do. He gave His life for me, and for everyone else who has, or who ever will live, on this earth. By living my life to honor Him and my Heavenly Father, and repenting of the things that I do wrong, I will be able to go back and live with them and my family forever. The Holy Ghost is the third member of the Godhead. He is also separate and distinct in his personage. His job is to testify of the truthfulness of things. He has testified to me, as I have prayed about this, of the truthfulness of this church to which I belong. I know that it is with all my heart.

How I live my faith

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In Utah there are many members of this church, but in Las Vegas we were many but were outnumbered by those who were not members of our church. I was a good chance to set a good example. We have a temple there in Las Vegas and people would have many questions about what happens in our temples. At school, most of the those in leadership positions were members of the LDS church. We are taught while very young, to give talks in public, to take leadership roles in classes and groups starting at age 12. The boys are able to take part in Boy Scouts and learn many skills there. The girls belong to a worldwide organization of young women. They learn values to strengthen character and prepare them to become mothers and leaders themselves. The adults also belong to worldwide organizations that teach leadership and parenting skills. We study the Bible and Book of Mormon. I have been able to teach lessons in my various classes at different age levels in my life so far. I love to share what I know about Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father, with anyone who would like to know more about how to improve THEIR relationship with Them.
