Hi I'm Michael

I'm a Husband. I'm a Father. I'm an engineer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

The most important aspect of my life is my family. I love spending time with them doing all sorts of fun things - reading good books, riding bikes, working in the yard (we have a big vegetable garden), playing games, ... One thing we especially like to do together is to travel and visit interesting places. Some fun places we have visited are Chicago, Washington D.C., Gettysburg, and Niagara Falls. I like to work on improving our home. Before we moved into our current home we took 6 months remodeling it - down to the studs in places. It has been fun learning how to design, build and install such things as tile and wood floors, kitchen cabinets, crown molding, fireplace surrounds, bathroom fixtures, and many other things. Maybe some day I will actually finish the basement project that I'm currently working on.

Why I am a Mormon

I love everything about being a Mormon - from the doctrine the church teaches to the opportunities for service that it affords to the blessings I receive from it. I believe that God directed the foundation of this church and that anyone would benefit from belonging to it.

How I live my faith

I enjoy attending church every week. It is such a great time to strengthen my knowledge and feelings about God and Jesus Christ. Meeting with others is also great. We strengthen each other as we seek to follow Christ and serve others. I have made life-long friends through my experiences with people at church. Being part of a church community has provided great opportunities for service. I have served in many different church responsibilities including working with teenagers to teach them about God and His plan for us as well as participating in fun activities. I have become a better person and I have studied God's word in the scriptures. They teach me about the right way to live - especially through reading about the life of Jesus Christ, who set the perfect example. While I am far from perfect, I try to follow that example. Personal prayer is big part of this process of improving myself. I receive comfort, strength and direction for what I do everyday as I pray.
