Hi I'm Jill Larkin

I was born and raised in Utah. I live in Phoenix. I'm a daughter, a wife, and a school psychologist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Jill. I am twenty-six years old. I married the love of my life just over a year ago, and it has been an amazing year! We moved from Utah to Phoenix, Arizona this summer because my wonderful husband Chase started law school at Arizona State University. We bought our first home and have enjoyed putting down roots in our place. We don't have any kids, but we know they aren't too far off in our future. I did my undergraduate studies in Psychology and Human Development and Family Studies, and did my graduate work in School Psychology. Right now I work as a school psychologist for a local district. I love spending time with our two families. We have 15 nieces and nephews, but none of them live around us. I enjoy reading a good book, watching movies, hanging out at the pool, and more recently playing tennis. But my very favorite thing to do is spend time just being with my incredible husband!

Why I am a Mormon

I am blessed enough to have always had the LDS church in my life. My family members are all Mormon, and they have taught me so much. Their example and their influence has brought me to where I am in this life. And now I have the amazing example of my husband. He strengthens my knowledge of the gospel and my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. But I also know for myself that this gospel is true. I can see the Lord's hand in my life every day. I see the blessings that He has given me, and I am so grateful. In times of struggle, I have been able to turn to Him. He sends me peace and comfort, and helps me get through the tough times in life. And as Chase and I have started to build our little family, I know that we can be together forever, because of the blessings of the true church of Christ. I couldn't ask for more!

How I live my faith

My husband and I work in our ward's nursery. We get to spend time with these little ones while their parents attend their classes. Every Sunday, we get to teach 1.5-3 year olds about the gospel and Jesus Christ. It is an amazing opportunity to teach these little ones about the Savior! Needless to say, it's a busy 2 hours! We spend our time singing songs, teaching them a lesson, having snacks, playing games, and just having a fun time (of course there is a little refereeing that takes place as well!). It's amazing what these little kids can teach us grown-ups! Occasionally, we are asked to participate in our ward in other ways as well. We are sometimes asked to say a prayer during a meeting, and every now and then we get asked to speak to our ward. It can be a nit nerve-wracking to speak in front of everyone, but I learn so much every time I do it! Aside from the things I do on Sunday, I do my best to live my life in a way that would make Christ proud. I try to be a good example to those around me. I'm certainly not perfect, and I make a lot of mistakes. But I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and is patient with me. He's knows I'm trying my best, and that's what matters the most to Him!
