Hi I'm Jon

I grew up in Las Vegas. I am currently serving a mission in Japan. I am an avid football fan. I love my family. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I grew up as the youngest in my family by six years having three older brothers and an older sister. My dad was a pediatric endocrinologist, or a doctor who specialized in taking care of kids with diabetes and other hormonal problems. My mom graduated as an English major, but was a stay at home mom until she decided to go back to school and be a nurse. Growing up I loved to spend a lot of time with my friends and family whether we were out playing sports, playing video games, or even studying. I played football for four years in high school, and still love football! I love good music that sends a good message and leaves a good feeling. After my mission I plan on attending Brigham Young University.I am serving a mission for our church in Nagoya, Japan for two years and desire to serve those in need.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that I have a Heavenly Father who lives and loves each and every one of us. I know that he sent his son to us so that we can become clean of our shortcomings. More than anything else, I know that life does not end after we die. After six months in the hospital, my father passed away days before I graduated from high school. This was the hardest trial of my life, but my Heavenly Father was looking out for me. During this time of intense struggle, I continued to pray to my Heavenly Father for help, and was lifted above my depression. I was blessed with a horde of friends to comfort me, and to make sure I could still enjoy life through all of my pains. I always had somebody looking out for me, but more than anything came the knowledge that life does not end for us when we die. I know that this is true, and I know that I will see my dad again. I know that we can find answers to any question we have in life by asking our Heavenly Father. He loves every one of us, and wants us to come to him. All we have to do is ask him for the truth in sincerity and he will give it to us.

How I live my faith

Growing up in Las Vegas I've seen nearly every kind of person. Along with all of the diversity, I have also witnessed both great happiness in the lives of others and great sorrow in the lives of others. I try to live my life in a way that I can uplift others, and strive to look for ways to help. I have felt true struggle and sorrow in my life, and I was pulled out by others who cared. I try to live my faith by reciprocating the love I have felt. I have been called to serve a mission for our church in Japan, and I am spending my next two years in Japan serving the people and teaching them our gospel.
