Hi I'm Shaye

I have lived in St. George UT all my life. I have a beard. I play rugby & piano. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love playing rugby. i was the scrum half in high school and now i just play any pick up game that i am invited to. i have only broken one bone in my body and that was my leg while i was playing football which ended my football career. I am an apple product person. i love to go boating and wake boarding. I have recently found the love of reading, which is funny because in school i didn't. I don't know what i would do without chocolate and Polynesian style food. My favorite holiday is Christmas because of the spirit it brings with it. I was buff in ninth grade and now i'm the average small kid size. I love the Mentalist, the tv show. I want to go sky diving, base jumping, bungee jumping, also go on the longest zip lines in the world. I want to go to a All Blacks game. Oh and a Mediterranean Cruise. I want to travel the world! Besides all the adrenalin stuff, one of my favorite activities is playing the piano, i can play Clair de Lune which is my favorite, and i can also play a few other songs. Hymns are really fun to play because no matter what mood you are in they always find a way to bring the spirit into the room.

Why I am a Mormon

When i was younger, i had no idea why i went to church. i actually did not enjoy spending all Sunday, one of two days that i didn't have school, in a building talking about stories that happened in the past. but when i grew older i started to realize the importance of this gospel and why blessings come from just simply saying a prayer, knowing i have that one on one connection with my heavenly father. I have had every one of my prayers answered, sometime not in the ways that i wanted them to but once you understand that god knows all and i have had experiences where i didn't listen and did things my own way and had to pay for the consequences, but our heavenly father is so awesome! I have messed up terribly but when i asked for his help i could feel his love. i know this gospel is true, and that i would be so lost without it. I can testify that if you study this gospel that your faith will be strengthen and you will know that this church is true and that Tomas S. Manson is a true prophet of God. I say those things in the name of thy beloved son, Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I still remember the day i was baptized into the church when i was only eight years old. I had no idea what was going on but i do remember the wondering feeling i had of comfort and feeling that what i was doing was right. When i turned 12 i was made a Deacon, then soon became the Deacons president. Then when i turned 14 i was made into a teacher. Then i was the Teachers President. Then when i turned 16 i was made a priest and became 1st counselor. So by the time i was 17 i have had 3 callings in the church already. I loved those callings, they have all taught me so much. Now i have my new calling which is to be a missionary in Canada Toronto, and speak Spanish for 2 years. I am so excited to go and tell everyone about this gospel and the hope it gives to us all. It has helped me get through some of the toughest trials that ill face in my life, and not once did i feel like i was put to the side, i had 24/7 help from my family, bishop, and God. I have a strong testimony about this church and all it can do for all individuals out in the world. When you just listen with an open heart, there is no way you cant feel anything, i testify that if you listen with a open heart and a contrite spirit, you will feel the truthfulness of this gospel.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Shaye
Our testimonies are things that we have a true belief in, we no that without a doubt that the things we have in our testimony are true. it can be from experiences, some as simple as a feeling. As we grow or study our gospel we have more experiences that strengthen our testimonies. like recently i have read the Book of Mormon all the way through and i can testify that the Book of Mormon is a true book of God, and when you pair it with the Bible, and use them both hand in hand they they can be a powerful instrument. and i say that in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
