Hi I'm Marie Hemingway

I'm from Texas. I love the outdoors, sports, and service. I smile...a lot and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a sister to five siblings who I constantly worry over, a daughter of two nurturing parents, and a ray of sunlight exploding with optimism to share with others. I have just graduated from the great Texas High School class of '14 and then right after graduated I applied to serve a 18-month mission for the Lord. Now I will be leaving to go and serve in the Honduras Comayagüela Mission! (Which makes me so ecstatic to think about!!) I value hard work. Since I can remember my family has always taught me that there is no greater gift to give than that of service. I love the profound feeling you get from giving to others, it's such a treasuring thing to experience. That is why I love giving service to others, I try to always aid others whenever I can. I also love to read books, having fun with friends, as well as the outdoors with sports (from classical soccer to wake boarding, rock climbing, or field boarding). Whatever sport it is you can count on me trying it!

Why I am a Mormon

I decided to be. I was born into this church but I choose to stay. I know this is the church of our loving Heavenly Father. This is the true complete church of God. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Christ, just like the Bible is. I know families can be together forever. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God just like Moses was. And I know that God speaks to his children now just like in biblical times through prophets, Thomas S. Monson is our current day prophet. I'm a member because I find answers in all its' doctrines. I know each person is a child of God and that God has a plan for each one of us to return home to Him someday.

How I live my faith

Everyday I go to school I wake up bright and early that morning for seminary at 5. I learn and grow there in my testimony of Christ and in the Bible and Book of Mormon. Both books come from God and they strengthen my testimony as I read from them daily. I love the scriptures I find peace, hope, joy and so many other lessons from them all the time. I attend my church activities, I serve others like Christ would do, I head out with the missionaries to share my testimony, I pray to my Heavenly Father for forgiveness, help, or thanks. I try to remember where I came from and remember where I will be going. I do my best and when I can't, I pray.
