Hi I'm Camren Harris

Hey I'm Camren I'm a college student who loves football and wrestling, mountains and camping! AND I'm a Mormon

About Me

So a little about me.... I am a college student at Brigham Young University Idaho. I am aiming for a communication major. I love to play sports! Wrestling and football are my favorite but I love just about any competition. I am the oldest of seven children with four brothers and two sisters. I love my family and wouldn't want to live without them. I served a mission in the countries of Sierra Leone and Liberia in West Africa. I love the people of West Africa.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, as my parents are both members of the church. I grew up going every Sunday. I went to all the meetings and youth activities and felt it to be good and true. The principles I learned from the teachings of the church and my parents were all centered on Jesus Christ and what He would have us do. These principles guided and shaped my life. But even though i knew all these things were good, and felt they might be true, because of the testimony of my parents, I still needed to come to know for myself. So I read The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ. I felt that this book was true but I didn't know for sure.I had my doubts. So I did as the Book of Mormon Prophet invites everyone to do; that is to read the book, ponder in our hearts if the message is true and then, ASK GOD. So I did this, with every bit of sincerity I had. I didn't see an angel or have a special dream or see some kind of sign. But the feelings I felt as I asked Heavenly Father through prayer, were incredible. I felt overwhelming peace and satisfaction, and an undeniable feeling in my heart that the Book of Mormon and everything I had learned since youth in this church were true. I KNOW with all my heart that that answer came from God. And since that time I have continued see His hand in my life more and more abundantly. I KNOW that the truth of God is available to each of us and that there incredible blessings waiting for those who seek. I am a Mormon "I know it, I live it, and I love it!" And I pray that anyone who reads this will seek for themselves to know more and then to know FROM GOD, the truth of these things. He answered me, and I know He will answer you.

How I live my faith

As a student at BYU-Idaho I have many wonderful opportunities to serve my fellow man and my Father in Heaven. I serve as a group leader for a group of 12 students who get together every Monday evening to share our thoughts and feelings about God and His word, and how we can live more like Christ. We also play games and have fun together. The best way that I have found to live according to what I have been taught this though is to always strive to do as Jesus Christ would do in every situation. I am far from perfect, and make my share of mistakes but I find great peace in the fact that our father in Heaven is there to help us and guide us if we turn to Him.
