Hi I'm Tiffany

I have been a convert since 2001 and am currently raising my 3 children in the Church. Sunday is our favorite day!!

About Me

I passed the Church so many times growing up and was always drawn to it. My family had no real knowledge of this Church so I was always wondering. When I was 20, my awesome friend begged me to take the discussions to learn about this awesome Gospel. (Her ulterior motive just happened to be a crush on the Elder!) So after much whining (not going to say who did said whining) I agreed to just listen, nothing more. However, after a few discussions the Elders read me the testimony of Joseph Smith Jr. I broke down in tears from the overwhelming sense of love, comfort, and warmth that came over me. I knew then that the voice that came out of this Elder's mouth was not his own, but of my Savior. I could feel his love and knew I never wanted that feeling to go away. I have never been so blessed in my life than after being baptized and following the commandments of my Heavenly Father. This life choice is not an easy one, it takes work and commitment. But, if you are willing to follow the commandments of our Heavenly Father, you will never regret it. I know I don't regret it! Oh, and in case you're wondering, my friend and the elder have been married about ten years and have 2 kids of their own. One of my favorite love stories!!

Why I am a Mormon

I have a strong testimony of my Savior's Gospel. And it continues to get stronger. I have become a better person because I have followed His commandments. My family has commented on how I have changed. One thing that I had an issue with in the past was paying tithing, I didn't see the point. But I finally made the decision that I would pay my tithing for a while and see what happened.... I didn't win the lottery, I didn't come across a bag of gold, and I didn't get that big check with the balloons and tv spot. BUT, I did have money to pay my bills on time, have gas in my car to get to work and back, and way less stress about money. Because somehow, even though it didn't work out on paper, I was never behind in what I owed. Sadly, I stopped paying my tithing when I had to move from NC back to OH. I struggled so much for the next 2 years. I moved back to NC, was jobless for 8 months, but I have paid my tithing with every pay check. I am now moving up 3 positions in less than 2 months to become the Assistant Manager at the restaurant I work at! For the first time ever, I will be a salary employee!! My children have seen me pay tithing, they have paid tithing, and they are seeing our blessings from being obedient to this commandment. I have challenged them to be obedient to all of his commandments for children (aka love each other, don't fight, etc.) and am trying to show them each blessing I see because of our obedience. I have never been so happy, and I have my Savior and Heavenly Father to thank for all of the blessings I have been given.

How I live my faith

I recently have been called as the Assistant Librarian! I am still learning about this calling so I will update as I know more. Even though I have been a member for 12+ years, I am still learning. I try to teach my kids how the Gospel is actually incorporated in everything we do. We watch different movies that aren't exactly lectures (since they usually stop paying attention after about 5 minutes anyway!) I recommend "The work and the glory" movies, "Emma Smith: My Story", "Joseph Smith: The restoration". Family Home Evening is something we also try to do. (Again, still learning) For our FHE's we either watch a movie, show, or play a game that will help me to teach them some principle of the Gospel. My daughter actually has a service plan for her next birthday! She has decided that she wants people to buy presents for children who do not have families instead of buying her presents! I'm so proud that she has become so considerate of others at only age 8!!
