Hi I'm Brisa

I'm from Southern California. I enjoy creating music, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the second oldest child in a family of seven: my parents, my older sister, and my three younger sisters. I love music; it is my passion, my stress-reliever and my form of expression. I appreciate music to a maximum, whether I'm listening to it or creating it. I was born and raised in Southern California and am a graduate of the class of '14. I love being active and attaining a healthy lifestyle either through sports or hobbies such as hiking, and running which is horrible but I find it rather rewarding. I have a burning desire to serve the Lord as a full-time missionary and I acquire joy in serving him in any way possible whether it's through a full-time mission, missionary work as a mere LDS member, charity, or any other type of service to help others. I love service and rejoice in voluntarily participating in community service including tutoring elementary kids, which I absolutely love. I aspire to attend BYU and then possibly further my education in communications at USC Annenberg. I plan on becoming a T.V. news broadcaster and use it to my advantage to influence people in a positive way.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because i know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that this is the true gospel of Jesus Christ. I have received a witness through sincere prayer, pondering, and through faithfully studying scriptures and attending church. Nothing will ever convince me otherwise because I have a burning, sincere testimony that can only be strengthened from this point on. Practically being raised within the church, the reason I am a Mormon is no mere result of simply "the way I was raised." My family is Mormon, and so am I; but I am a Mormon because I personally choose to be. I am a Mormon because at one point I had to find for myself if this gospel was true, and in doing so received a personal witness and acquired a great and burning testimony. I am a Mormon because this gospel is happiness and I LOVE IT.

How I live my faith

My family was a convert of the church. My mother and older sister were the first to be baptized into the church when I was only six, being introduced to the church by my dad (who ironically to this day, isn't even a member). Ever since, my sisters, mom, and I began attending church regularly. Soon I met the required age for baptism and was baptized into the church as well, officially becoming a member and making sacred covenants with the Lord. I've always thought of my family's conversion to the church as a blessing. I considered myself "lucky" for a while but, in reality, it wasn't just luck, nothing is merely luck, there was a purpose, as there is a purpose for everything. Ever since I was six years old my life has literally revolved around the church. My standards, my speech, my appearance, my goals. I guess you could say I'm living the "LDS/Mormon lifestyle." While some may think it is too "strict" of a lifestyle, it is actually anything but. It is amazing, and I can testify that living this faith is happiness. I live my faith as i attend church regularly, study/ponder the scriptures, pray with a sincere heart, and always seeking ways to help anyone or anything. Some of my happiest and most cherished memories come from within the church: from singing countless times "Families Can Be Together Forever" and "I Love to See the Temple" in primary, to the YW program, to fulfilling my YW Personal Progress, to participating in church choirs, participating in the extravaganza event "California Dreamin'", Girl's Camp, and splits with the missionaries. .
