Hi I'm Emma

I am a daughter, a mother, a wife, a mother-in-law, a grandmother, and a teacher.

About Me

I was an only child, raised by my mother, who was widowed when I was a baby. I went to college and graduated with a degree in mathematics. I was offered a fellowship to graduate school, after which I became a teacher. I have taught at a university, at a high school, and am currently teaching at a community college. I married in my late 30's and my husband, Frank, and I were blessed with two children, a boy and a girl. We have been married for 20 years now. I also have three step-children and three grandchildren. I enjoy reading, sewing and other crafts, and doing puzzles of all kinds.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church. My mother and her siblings were raised in the church. My grandfather was a convert at a young age. As a young adult, I studied the gospel and prayed about it and was given my own testimony of the truths that are taught in the church. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet, and I am grateful that we continue to have living prophets on the earth today.

How I live my faith

I took piano lessons in my youth, and have used that talent in church often. I am currently the ward organist and I am also the pianist for the children's meetings on Sunday. I think music really adds to the meetings and I'm happy to be able to contribute in that way.
