Hi I'm Yelena

I am a college student. I am big sister, a daughter. I love to work and server others, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of four and have two very loving parents. I love my family very much and am very thankful for them. I am currently a student at Brigham Young University studying exercise science and I want to be a Physicians Assistant. I love sports, especially soccer. I also love music, all types of music and I play the violin. Although I haven't done much traveling I always love going to new places and learning about different cultures and people. Additionally I love having the opportunity to serve others, whether it be big or small.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have a testimony of the Savior Jesus Christ, of the Book of Mormon, the Prophet Joseph Smith and the Prophet Thomas S. Monson. I know that Jesus was the Son of God and he was sent to this earth for us. I know that the Book of Mormon is true scripture, written by ancient prophets from direct revelation from God. I also know that Joseph Smith was called of God to resort the Lord's gospel to this earth and that Thomas S. Monson is a current prophet of the Lord called by God to lead us today. This is my testimony and it has grown over the years and I know will continue to grow and I continue to increase my understanding of this gospel. While I was born into the church leaving home to go to college has only helped my testimony by allowing me to see how important the church is in my life. The values and principles I have learned from being a member of this church have greatly shaped me to who I am today. I have witnessed so much charity and love as a member of this church and strive to incorporate those principle into my life. I am a member of the church because it gives me direction in my life on what I should be doing and how I should be treating others. It also gives me peace to know that I am a daughter of God who loves me and will always be there for me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in many ways. Through church programs I have be given many service opportunities, for example I currently tutor children. I am also a part of my wards activities committee where we plan all of the activities and parties for our ward. I am always willing to give a hand to those around me.
