Hi I'm Maya

I grew up in Provo, Utah and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love dancing and music. I have been a ballroom dancer for 3 years. I have played a musical instrument since 4th grade. The instruments I have played include: clarinet, violin, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, bass clarinet, and contra alto clarinet. I am 16 years old and am the 4th child of 8 total.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the LDS church. I have parents who have taught me that it was up to me to decide if I felt this church was true. At first I just went through the motions and didn't really believe for myself. I relied on others testimonies to carry me through. A little while after I turned 13 I realized I needed to find out for myself if this church was for me. When attending church I payed more attention to what was being said and what was being taught. I still wasn't completely sure if this church was true so I prayed to my Heavenly Father and I felt an indescribable feeling and answer to my prayer. After that moment I have known without a doubt this is the true church. This church and gospel is the greatest thing in my life. It is my light in the darkness of this cruel world. It has always been there for me and will continue being there for me. I have learned that God has an incomparable love for me and everyone. No matter what he will always love everyone. This is the true church. I will continue following His gospel because I know it to be completely true.

How I live my faith

I have served many positions in the young women program such as President, 1st Counselor, and Secretary. I live up to the standards that have been set by the church including: modesty, appropriate language, honesty, and love for everyone.
