Hi I'm Shannel

I grew up in Utah. I am a mother and a wife. I am a nurse. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and a mother of 5. I always wanted to be a stay home mom growing up, but had wise parents who encouraged me to get an education. In todays economy it is hard for one parent to stay home, so I am grateful for my education. I started Nursing school right after graduating from High School. I now own a Home Hospice Agency. I enjoy this work as the Plan of Salvation is constantly a reminder in my life. I enjoy being able to support and cheer on my children in all their activities. Family is very important to me, and everything I do is for my family or someone else's family. I enjoy scrapbooking and being crafty. I love cooking and baking, and now have taken up a love in cake decorating. I enjoy serving in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and am so grateful for my membership in this church. I love going to the temple with my husband and grateful for our Eternal Marriage. I love my Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this is the true church. I know that Joseph Smith restored Christ's church upon the world. I was born and raised as a Mormon, but didn't always have an active family. There was time in my youth (I was 13) when my parents didn't go to church, but I knew it was the right place for me to be so I would go by myself every week and sometimes take my little brothers with me too. I felt loved and had friends there. Not only did I feel the love of others around me but I also felt the love of my Heavenly Father and elder brother Jesus Christ. This feeling of love helped me to continue to grow and develop my testimony of my Saviour, Jesus Christ. I have read and studied the Book of Mormon several times and each time I know that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. And because it is true then Joseph Smith is a true prophet and this is the true Church of Christ. I love that I have an Eternal Family and will be with them even after this life. I love our prophet President Thomas S. Monson. I love my elder brother Jesus Christ and am so grateful for all he did for me personally. I am a Mormon because I know this is the true Church and the way to return to live with my Heavenly Father, brother Jesus Christ, and my family.

How I live my faith

I work as hospice nurse and serve others daily. I have a testimony of the Plan of Salvation and this helps me in my everyday work as I deal with death often. I am a mother and a wife and my husband and I teach our children the ways of Christ and how to return to live with him and our Father in Heaven. It helps to have a Christ centered home in all the turmoil of todays world. I serve in the young women in our church. I assist with the 12-14 year old girls. I am also a visiting teaching and visit women to make sure they are doing okay and have a friend. My Faith is very important to me and I rely on the promptings from the Holy Ghost daily to guide me in different decisions in my life.

What do Mormons believe happens to us after we die? What do Mormons believe about life after death?
