Hi I'm Joyce

I was born and raised in the Philippines. I am a convert to the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon :)

About Me

I'm currently serving as full-time missionary in the Unted States. A few months before I left for a full time mission, I graduated from college with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Cooperative Management. I'm not really planning to become a full-time employee after my mission, I'm planning to put up and manage my own business and manage my own home at the same time :) I have a dream to be rich in material wealth so I can help others (specially my relatives) who in temporal things have nothing. As of now, I am rich because I'm enjoying the abundant blessings that come from the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up seeing how my parents struggle with their relationship. Because of that I started dreaming of a happy family. My mom was contacted and baptized by the full-time missionaries while working in Hong Kong. Five years after she got baptized, she was blessed with an opportunity to take a 3-week vacation in the Philippines. She started bringing us to the LDS Church. Everything was different but I love how families is a big thing in the Church. The missionaries started teaching us and inviting us to do family prayer, family scripture study and family home evening. I loved it a lot! We also started learning from the Book of Mormon and the fact that the beginning of the story is about a family who journeyed together to get to a place promised by God for them impacted me so much. I felt so much love from reading their account. The missionaries invited us to read, ponder and pray about the Book of Mormon. Though I already knew that it was true, I still did. I was glad that I did because I got a firmer testimony that it is true and everything else they taught was true. My dad, my sisters and I got baptized. Unfortunately, some of the members of the family lose their way which caused our family to get broken. But I know that no matter what happened, I need to continue to live what I already started. Doing so blessed me so much. I still have that hope for a happy family. In fact, I gained so much experiences with the gospel that prepare to build my own family in the future. I've grown so much closer to Jesus Christ as I continue to follow and live His gospel despite of the hardships in my youth. That's the reason why I am a Mormon. That's the reason your Heavenly Father wants you to be a Mormon too! :)

How I live my faith

Since I became a member of the Church, 8 years ago, my life just went around home, school and church. I always love attending Church gatherings, classes, conferences, activities and services. I enjoy serving in my home ward in any way I can. I used to be the full-time music director in my ward. I taught seminary class (daily scripture study/class for the youth) for 2 years. I had been an active ward missionary as well wherein I go out with full-time missionaries at least once a week. I am currently away from my country, serving as full-time missionary. That's how I live my faith. As I work for the Lord's Church, my faith in Him and His restored gospel increases.

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ a volume of holy scripture comparable to the bible. It is literally another witness of the divinity of our Savior and Redeemer of Jesus Christ and contains the complete gospel of Jesus Christ. It contains things we need everyday to be happy, to have peace joy and to prepare to meet the Lord someday. It is the key stone of this religion. It's also the keystone of my personal testimony of the truthfulness of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
