Hi I'm Amanda

I'm a military brat. I love my family, I love my country, and I love my Savior. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My father was in the military, so I grew up all over the United States. I've lived in nine states and moved twice as many times, and although it was tough at times, I wouldn't trade it for the world. I love my country and I'm grateful for the opportunity I've had to see it. I was born to two members of the church and count that as an extraordinary blessing. The only constants in my life have been my family (and at times not even that) and my God. I love the gospel with all my heart and try to show that in all that I do. Two of my favorite things in the world are reading and writing. I've always either got a book or a pen in my hand, and often both. I'm now studying English in college and enjoying every second of it.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the Church is truly the only thing in this world that gives me both a profound sense of peace and great happiness no matter what my circumstances. This church testifies plainly of a Savior who loves us and died for us. This church can tell me where I came from, why I'm here, and where I'm going. In a world where everything is confused and it is so easy to lose your way, the clear path laid down by God in The Book of Mormon and through His prophets today ensures that I am never lost. What a blessing that is.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mormon women are some of the strongest and most compassionate women I've ever met and their role in the Church is very important. We do not have the same responsibilities as the men in the church simply because we are not the same as men. The talents we are given make each of us suited to different tasks. Women are not beneath men in the church, but neither are woman above men. We work together, men and women, as equal partners to do the work of the Lord. Show more Show less
