Hi I'm Becki Lyn

I'm a practicing attorney, former school teacher, and a Texan. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I also like to travel and explore little known places around my state and beyond. When I'm not on the road for work and/or pleasure, I'm either cycling with friends, playing with my dog, or enjoying time with my family that lives nearby.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of this faith, but as a single adult woman, I continue to choose to follow its teachings. The gospel of Jesus Christ offers me peace, happiness, and direction that I cannot find anywhere else. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints shows us how we are to live here on Earth and what we need to do to return to live with our Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ once more. In a world where anything goes, sometimes it is hard to see clearly what we are to do and who we are to be, but the gospel teaches us this. I know that I am a daughter of God. I know that my Heavenly Father has given commandments to help ensure my safety and happiness while on this Earth life. These commandments may at first seem restrictive and are not widely embraced by our communities. But I choose to live them because they give order to my life, happiness, and peace. I have purpose and I have a direction. For these reasons, I choose to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I currently teach the 15 & 16 year old Sunday school class at church. I love interacting with these youth and hearing of their experiences and their desires to do and be good. As I strive to teach and serve them, I understand more fully our Savior's love for us and His desire that we make good choices. I have been given other opportunities to serve with the youth as together we have planned Christmas musical performances and three day youth conferences. Living my faith sometimes requires that I sacrifice my time to help and serve others even when doing so may not be convenient. I believe that by putting others first, however, we come to love them and we grow in our capacity to become more like Christ.
