Hi I'm Robyn

I'm a Mormon. I love to garden. I'm a mother and a grandmother.

About Me

I grow a garden every year and have taken the county master gardener's class. I love to read especially mysteries from the 1940's and 50's. I take a Tai Chi class and a beginning watercolor class once a week. I like to go to garage sales. My hobby is writing and I try to participate in the National Novel Writing Month each November. My husband is my best friend. My husband and I collect books. In fact, there are books in every room of our house. I like to do research and learn things to help my family grow in unity and love. I like to sing. I sing in the choir and I love teaching primary music. I'm a mother of five . I'm also a grandmother and love doing things with my grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It is an anchor in my life. It is the guidance system I follow. When I follow the teachings I learn from the church I am happier and I choose to do better things. I love the way I feel when I go to church, read the scriptures, and pray. I love knowing Heavenly Father listens to my prayers and that there is a plan for me. By serving in the church I enjoy many opportunities to grow. I love the principle that families can be together forever. I know it is a true principle. It is the glue that holds our family together and shapes the decisions and actions that I do. Because I am a member of the church and have met certain requirements I have the opportunity of going to the temple. When I am there I feel peace. As a girl there came a time in my life when I felt I needed to reallly know if this was the true church for me. I prayed and studied and prayed some more. Then one day as I was driving home, this incredible feeling came over me and the words came into my mind, "you know it's true." And I did. I knew. I knew this was the path Heavnely Father had planned for me. I know that I am a child of God. I know that God loves me. I know that a living prophet leads us today. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I find answers as I read it.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday. It feels good to be there. I try to be a good neighbor. I read in the scriptures daily. I serve in the church where I am asked to serve. I am presently serving in the primary organization as the music leader. The primary is held on Sunday for the children ages 3 to 12. I go to one or two adult religion classes each year. These classes are in addition to the meetings I attend on Sunday. I also like to attend Brigham Young University Education week. I pray alone and with my family daily. We have a family council and a family home evening every week. I go to the temple with my husband about once a month.
