Hi I'm Amber

I'm a born and raised Kansas girl who's currently a student at BYU-Provo. I love psychology, music, soccer, and being a Mormon.

About Me

Sup y'all, I'm Amber! I'm really just your average college girl. I need more sleep than I get and I eat macaroni and cheese a little too often. I'm majoring in psychology at BYU-Provo and hope to one day be either a forensic psychologist or a school psychologist. I love playing the beautiful game of soccer, reading, listening and singing along to all kinds of music, and spending time with my friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be able to be born into a family that already was a part of this wonderful church, so as a young child I was able to learn many gospel stories and gain a testimony for myself. This does not, however, diminish my role in choosing to be a member of Christ's church. At times it is hard to understand why I continue to live the principles of the gospel and uphold the standards that we have, but at the end of the day, it is the faith that I have and the love I feel that matter most. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer. He suffered for my sins and died on the cross so that I may be able repent of my sins and live with Him again someday. I know that we are so loved by Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. And that love is what is most important to me. I am a Mormon because of the Godly love that I am able to feel everyday.

How I live my faith

The best way I've found to live the gospel is by serving others! Since I've been in school away from home, I have been put in awesome leadership positions. I have had the opportunity to be the first counselor and the president over an awesome group of beautiful young women. I have been able to organize lessons for our Sunday meetings, and even teach a little bit. I have also been able to think of ways that will best serve all of the girls that I live with and preside over. I also try to find ways to serve other people I associate with, even it is as simple as smiling! Christ spent a lot of His ministry serving the people that he interacted with and I think that it is very important that we find opportunities to do the same! He trusted us to do His work for Him on earth and I plan on doing it to the best of my ability.

Are Mormons Christians?

Amber
The Mormon faith is built on the foundation of Christ. Every belief we hold to be true in the church is tied back to Christ in some way. I have built my life around Christ, trying to live the way He would live. Through His example, we can know what we need to do throughout this life and through His atonement we can repent and live with Him again. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints would not be with same with out its connection to Christ and His divine story. The two are undeniably inseparable. Show more Show less
