Hi I'm Daniel Young

I am a son, brother, and friend. I love to play games and read books. I enjoy the outdoors. I am a missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up most of my life in Arizona. Then we moved to Idaho when my dad got a job transfer working for a grocery store. Next thing we know, two years later, we are being transferred here to Minnesota with a different grocery store. Went to middle and high school here and was bullied for 4 years of my schooling career for being a Mormon. The kids didn't care who I was, they were only concerned about my religion because their pastors told them that Mormon's worship the devil. The whole time this was happening I remained strong and true in this Church and never once backed out. Lived here 6 years and now I'm excited to carry on with my life. I am serving a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the Texas Houston East Mission. All this time I have been a Mormon and proud of it. It's worth it all. I also am pretty normal in my life. I love to read books especially fantasy books and play video games. I play paintball in the summer and love to enjoy hot chocolate in the winter.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I Mormon? Well that is simple. Throughout my life I had to make some pretty tough decisions. I was able to make the correct decisions because of what I had been taught in church. Plus this Church and the people in it mean a lot to me. I have gone through a lot and the whole time they were right there beside me. Never once did they abandon me or leave me to fend for myself. I also know it's the truth. Asking God and by testing out if the Book of Mormon is His word has helped me to find my answer. I know it's the truth and I know that you can know too.

How I live my faith

While living in the West it was easy to live as a Mormon. However, when we moved out here to Minnesota I realized how hard my teen years were about to become. Throughout my Middle School and High School, from 7th-10th grades, career life was difficult. The kids were cruel to me just because their pastors said that Mormons are evil. I was being confronted daily with kids taunting me and pretending to be my friends. Then I transferred to a new school district and life was way easier because that is where some of my other Mormon friends were attending. The kids there had already been around Mormons for a while so it was easier. I graduated from that High School. All during this time I had been attending an early morning scripture study class. I also did Boy Scouts with the other youth in my church. I am now an Eagle Scout. I also help to coordinate the cleaning of the building every three months. I also had been in leadership positions while as a youth in the youth programs and a leadership position in an adult program as well as serving as a worker at the Saint Paul Temple. Currently I am serving a mission attempting to show others what I have found through scripture study and prayer.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Daniel Young
The Book of Mormon is another witness of Jesus Christ. Unlike the Bible that took place in the Middle East, the Book of Mormon occurred here in the American continents. God's dealings with the inhabitants here starting at or around 600 BC. A family came here from Jerusalem just before the Babylonians destroyed it. While here they attempted to live the way the scriptures said. They had a part of the Old Testament with them that contained the Law of Moses. The people flourished and multiplied. They followed this law up to the point that Jesus Christ appeared to them after His Resurrection. When He came He taught them the things He taught the Jews. After His departure the people remained righteous until roughly 400 AD at which point a massive civil war happened destroying entirely one side of the nation with only one man remaining named Moroni. He later buries the plates and appears to Joseph Smith in 1823 to guide him to their location. It also contains the record of a people that came here at the time of the Tower of Babel and their destruction. Their is an amazing promise at the end saying that if a person desires to know the truth of the Book of Mormon all he/she needs to do is read and pray to God and the truth will be made manifest.
