Hi I'm Troy Elwood

I grew up in the hills of Bountiful, Utah. I am a sports fanatic and love the outdoors. I love people. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I was born and raised in Bountiful, Utah. I graduated from Bountiful High School in 2012. I am serving a mission in the Ohio Cleveland Mission until October 2014 and I absolutely love it! I never want to go home... I am blessed to be preaching the Gospel that I love in both the Spanish and English language. I love to play sports and be outdoors. My hobbies and interests include anything in the outdoors. I love skiing an boating. I grew up with a lot of great friends and we spent a lot of time in the mountains and on the lakes. I love to play and watch sports, especially football and basketball. I grew up playing basketball then my junior and senior year of High School one of my buddies convinced me to try out for the golf team. I am a very social person and I have been ever since I can remember. What can I say... I just love people!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have come to know for myself that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. I was born and raised in the Church and I have always believed that it was true, but now I know for a surety that it is true. Reading the Book of Mormon combined with a lot of prayer is the only way to know for yourself that it is true. The Book of Mormon has brought me so much peace and comfort as I read it. I cannot , not believe that it is true. I love the knowledge that we have of the Restored Gospel. I am so grateful that we have modern day prophets to lead and guide us in this crazy world. I am grateful for Joseph Smith and how great of an instrument he was in the Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Most of all I am a Mormon because I know that this is the only true Church with Jesus Christ at the head of it. I am so grateful for my Savior and for the atoning sacrifice that he offered on our behalf. I am grateful for the Priesthood authority that only this Church holds to perform saving ordinances so we can return back to our Father in Heaven. By their fruits ye shall know them. Any where you look, there is fruit in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I love being a Mormon and I will never be ashamed of the Gospel that I live and know to be true.

How I live my faith

Currently I am serving a full-time mission for the Church in the Ohio Cleveland Mission. I have never made a better decision of my life than the one to choose to serve a mission. I love serving people and sharing the Gospel with them. I love being able to study the scriptures every single day to strengthen my testimony. I am forever changed because of my mission. Before I left on my mission I served in a variety of youth leadership positions in the Church which I am very grateful for because I have learned so much from it. I participated in scouting and I was able to earn my Eagle Scout award. I look forward to many opportunities in the future to serve others.
