Hi I'm Zachary

I live in Southwest Missouri. I am a return missionary. I am a college student. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am a 23 year old college student. I am currently studying biochemistry. I love music, reading, science, hiking, movies, and my church calling as a youth sunday school teacher. I have an amazing family with 2 little sisters, one who is an amazingly strong girl adopted from the Ukraine and the other currently serving a mission in Japan. I also served a mission to the Philippines and LOVED IT!!! I am blessed with hard working and caring parents and with so many great experiences throughout my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I received the great blessing of beinig born into the church to faithful parents who taught me the gospel and helped to build my faith in this church. I can say with surety though that there was a point at which I had to gain my own testimony. My family underwent several changes and challenges while I was a young teenager and I had to make the decision about what I believed and what I was going to do regardless of other members of my family. It was the best decision of my life to choose at such a young age to commit myself fully to the gospel. I gained a testimony that continues with me today that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ on the Earth lead a guided by a living prophet of God. I have faith in a living and loving Heavenly Father who guides and has a plan for his children.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in every way I can. I never miss my daily opportunities to partake of the gospel through prayer and scripture study. I am wonderfully blessed to teach the youth in a sunday school class and to participate in their gospel education. I work hard to participate with the local young single adults by attending local religious classes for college aged individuals called institute. I also just try to be obedient to the commandments and share my beliefs every opportunity I get.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

The missionaries share the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ. They will share with you about the beliefs of the Mormon church and help you to determine for yourself if those teachings are truth and to gain a testimony. They will also answer your questions, help you realize the importance of the gospel in your own life, and prepare you to be baptized as you gain a testimony. They will go at a pace that will be tailored to your family and individual needs. They will pray about you individually and seek to help you in any way they can and to be guided by our Father in Heaven in how they can help and strengthen you individually or as a family. What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

Mormon church services are an opportunity for a community of those with faith in Jesus Christ to join together to worship, learn, and strengthen one another. Sunday meetings are divided into three blocks. Sacrament meeting is the primary service where all members meet together to sing, pray, partake to the sacrament (communion), and listen to assigned speakers share about gospel topics. Sunday School consists of religious classes offered for each age group. Finally, the third block is divided into Priesthood (a meeting for men ages 12+), Relief Society (a class for women 18+ where women can learn and discuss the gospel and their specific roles and gifts as daughters of God), Young Women (religious classes to strengthen girls age 12 to 18), and Primary (simple gospel instruction, music, and games focus on teaching children the basics of the gospel). Church meetings are open to anyone member or not and families are always encouraged to attend together. Show more Show less
