Hi I'm Kari

I grew up in Utah and now live in Texas. I am a dental hygienist and an elementary school substitute. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife, mother of three, and grandmother of five. I enjoy geocaching (scavenger hunting using a GPS), scrapbooking, musicals, Cub Scouts, traveling, Skyping with our grandchildren, and teaching. I love music. I play the piano and organ and have always wanted to learn to play the flute. I am attempting that goal now. I have enjoyed service opportunities in our community: delivering meals to shut-ins, mentoring school children, and Relay For Life. I am an amateur radio operator and assist in emergency communications in our county.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that God lives and the Jesus Christ is His Son. I know that they appeared to the prophet, Joseph Smith, and that through him Christ's gospel was restored to the earth. I had to gain this testimony for myself through study, prayer, fasting, obedience, and patience. I know that through Christ's continual atonement we can be forgiven of our sins, strengthened in our times of trial, and enabled to accomplish the work He has for us to do. I am grateful for the Priesthood, the power to act in God's name. I have received many healing and comforting blessings through the Priesthood. I have a testimony of the Temple. I love doing the work there for those who didn't have the opportunity to perform those ordinances when they were on the earth. I know that families can be eternal through the sealing ordinances of the temple. I know that there are living prophets on the earth that teach us through word and example the way that we should live to be happy now and through the eternities.

How I live my faith

I am actively involved in our woman's organization whose purpose is to increase in faith and righteousness, strengthen families and homes, and seek out and help those in need. I work with Cub Scouts to help the boys learn high standards and achieve their goals. I also play the piano in our children's organization. Music can be a source of comfort, personal revelation, and testimony. I try to be a good example of love and service to others. I enjoy reading the scriptures and words of living prophets. I know that God hears and answers my prayers.
