Hi I'm Jennifer Boulis

I grew up in Michigan. I did home health care. I am a mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a Christian home. I have a family of six: Two sisters and a brother. I'm 3rd of the four. I love my family very much. I knit and crouquet. I love being outdoors. I had a part-time job as a caregiver and am now serving a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints.

Why I am a Mormon

I've always believed in God and had a strong relationship with Him. There was a very difficult time in my life when I didn't really know where I was going. Some struggles in our family tore us apart and caused me to go into depression. I felt lost and struggled to see my purpose in life. I prayed, knowing that He was the only one that could help me. I looked for solace in the scriptures and found great peace and comfort there, but there was still something missing in my life, but didn't know what. I went to church but never really fit in. I struggled because I seemed to be the only one my age that really thought about these things. I began to close myself off. I didn't want to feel any more because it was just too painful. During this time we met a doctor and his family. My dad got to know him very well. They ended up needing to change doctors. He was the one they chose. They got to know him very well. He introduced them to the church. I can't tell you all the things that stood out to me in the lessons, I just remember getting down on my knees and praying, asking Him to help me feel again. As I prayed and listened I did begin to feel again. For me, my testimony did not come in a moment, but as I have studied and prayed daily. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and cares for me and my family. I know that we go through trials to make us stronger and that Heavenly Father won't give us anything that He won't help us get out of.

How I live my faith

I taught small children at my church. I am currently serving a mission in California. This is probably the best thing I have ever done and the most rewarding. I love the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints because it helps me learn more about my Savior, Jesus Christ and how I can draw closer to Him. It helps me to realize that we are all imperfect people, but we can strive to have a perfect relationship with a perfect person, which is Jesus Christ. He has helped me through the darkest nights and helped me to have hope that, even when it doesn't feel like it, there is always an end to those dark nights. Sometimes it's a week, sometimes longer, but it always comes and He is always there to walk me through it. He's like my best friend that I can come to for everything. He's always got a shoulder to lean on. Every difficulty, ever struggle that I have gone through and am still going through, has and is leading me back to Him. I live my faith by giving back to Him what I can. I know that I can never pay Him back for what he has done for me, but I can show my appreciation to Him for all that He has done for me by doing the things that He has asked. I am serving my mission because I know that He loves me and all His children and I want them to know that too.
