Hi I'm Kaitlyn

I grew up in Utah. I love being active and exploring the world. I am aspiring to be a nurse. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Throughout my life, I've been active in slalom-skiing, snow-skiing, air-chairing, biking, hiking, motorcycling, going on scary roller-coasters, and playing the piano. My favorite thing to do is to read as many books as I can get my hands on. I love overcast days with cool breezes. My dream place to live would either be Austoria, Oregon or Silverton, Colorado. I am obsessed with fruit, bread pudding, and all things vintage. With my wedding dress one day, I want to wear converse shoes. If given the choice between an ocean or mountain view, I'd pick the mountains every time. I was a director in planning the Special Olympics Utah Winter Games, and love giving service. My biggest dream is to go to Peru (once I get my nursing degree) with a medical team to perform service work for several weeks or months, then stand above Machu Pichu. If possible, someday I'd like to do similar work in Africa. I'm not afraid to try new things, and I want to experience the world. I've swam with sharks, stood atop ancient Mayan ruins, and have learned to speak a second language. I love small towns, and most of all, I love my family. We are always trying new things and finding new ways to enjoy life. We love going to movies and finding new restaurants to try different foods. I love dinners at my grandparents' home, eating frozen yogurt outside next to fountains, authentic Italian pizza, and walking through boutique shops, grocery stores, and places to rent movies.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents who were already members of the church, so I grew up learning about all the doctrines from a young age. Throughout my teenage years, I began to have a lot of questions about what the purpose was for life, and I had doubts about what would happen after we died. When someone very dear to me in my family passed away unexpectedly, I felt so lost. That was when I turned to the Book of Mormon, and that is when I knew, without a shadow of a doubt, that this gospel is true. I want a family that can be forever, not that gets separated after death. I want to go to the temple one day and be married for eternity. I want to feel a purpose every day. I know that Heavenly Father loves me, and every person who has lived, lives, and will live. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is a prophet of God, I know that the Book of Mormon is true, and I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer.

How I live my faith

I have worked as a representative for single adults in my ward, with was really neat because I got to be actively involved in helping others (like me) come to single adult activities. During high school, I was the President of the young women in my class for several years, and coordinated various activities for service, learning, and just having fun! In college, I taught a class to a group of 3-year-olds, which really brought some of the greatest joy to my life.
