Hi I'm Rachel

I'm a mother to the most wonderful 3-year old daughter. I love running. I'm an Air Force veteran. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated with my BA in Russian Language and Area Studies where I did a semester abroad in Tver/Moscow/St Petersburg Russia. I served as an Air Force officer for 5 years. Now, I'm a full-time mother and homemaker with a wonderful 3-year old daughter whom I love with all my heart. I love anything fitness related, especially running. I've completed 1 full marathon, 3 half marathons, and more 5K's/10K's than I can count! My next fitness goal is to complete my first triathlon. I love traveling and exploring the outdoors. Most of all, I have a passion for studying the gospel and the scriptures for they have so richly blessed my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know this is Jesus Christ's church restored to the Earth with all the saving ordinances and covenants crucial to our eternal salvation. I love this church, especially how it encourages such strong family ties and values. I know this church is true, that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that President Thomas S Monson is the living prophet upon the Earth at this time. I know without a doubt that the Book of Mormon is true and that it truly bears a second witness along with the Bible that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and atoned for all our sins so we can return home to our Father in Heaven. All the scriptures provide me with so much strength, comfort, knowledge, personal revelation, and peace. They are as relevant to us today as they were for those at the time they were written. I know the more we study the scriptures and pray with a broken heart and contrite spirit, we will grow closer to our Heavenly Father. He loves each and every one of us no matter what, and He knows each of us by name.

How I live my faith

I am a youth Sunday School teacher for ages 15-18 and I absolutely love my students! They are so bright, talented, and wonderful examples to all who know them. I also serve as a Visiting Teacher where I minister to the women of my congregation by letting them know they are loved and cared about, helping them grow in every aspect of their life, and serving them in times of need.
