Hi I'm Benjamin

I am a father and a husband. I love music, wood working, and computers. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town in Idaho. I spent my teenager years singing, camping, and kayaking. I also spent two years as a missionary in Venezuela. After I came home I got married and started my family. The two most important things in my life are my family and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In my spare time, I love to go camping, build furniture, play games, and spend time with my family. I also love my job as a analyst for a major company where we live.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because without the gospel life has little meaning. I would be hard for me to get up each day without the knowledge that God has a plan for me. I was born in the church, but I did not understand the power of the gospel of Christ until I was serving my mission in Venezuela and had the opportunity to see how it changed people lives. Nothing else in their lives would change, but as soon as they chose to follow Christ's example, their attitudes change. they became joyous, hopeful, and I could see the burden they had carried being lifted off their backs. I have also had my burdens lightened through the atonement of Christ and I want to follow him. I also want my family to have the same joy and hope that I saw in eyes of those that I worked with. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith in a variety of ways. I get to work with the young men between the ages of 14-15. There are some great boys in our church and area and I have the opportunity to work with them in the Boy Scouts. I love helping them discover the men they can become and teaching them how to lead and have good character in everything they do. I also get to visit families in my area and take them under my wing. It feels great to have these families call me and ask if I can come help them with a project or help one of their children who is sick. I guess, in a way, these families have become an extension of my own family. I feel the most important thing that I do is trying to emulate Christ in everything I do. At work, at home, or with friends I try to live the way that Jesus Christ would want me to live. Every one who knows me, knows that I am a Mormon and that I live a certain way and the respect me for it.
