Hi I'm Timothy

I grew up in California and Utah. I am an Eagle scout. I am a Mormon

About Me

I am called to be a missionary in the Birmingham Alabama mission. I plan on going to college after my mission. I like swimming, I like the outdoors. I love the beach and I love spending time with family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it is the only church I have ever been to or visited where I can really feel the spirit of the Lord. I grew up in the church, but when I was about 15 I really didn't care about going to church anymore. I then realized that I hadn't even tried to have my own testimony, so I decided to read the Book of Mormon. I read it and prayed to know if it was true. I didn't have a great burning in my bosom , but I did, form that point on, feel a strong conviction that it was true and that the LDS church was the right church. That is how I received my revelation that I should stay faithful to the LDS church, and every time I do something in service to the church or another person I get the same feeling.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving on a mission. I live my faith by accepting any calling or assignment my Bishop or Stake president calls me to do. I live my faith by reading my scriptures and praying every day. I live my faith by trying to help other people feel better about themselves and try to choose the right.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Timothy
We do not, we worship Heavenly father and His son Jesus Christ. Joseph Smith was the prophet who started the lords church in this dispensation. An early church apostle said of him "Joseph Smith, the prophet and seer of the Lord has done more, save Jesus only for the salvation of the world than any other man that ever lived in it."(D&C 135:3), which included the Translating of the Book of Mormon. We respect him and admire his work, and acknowledge his trials in performing that work. However, he was still a regular human just like you and me, so we don't worship him. Show more Show less
