Hi I'm Shaunie

I'm an amateur singer & guitarist, I'm a daydreamer, I'm an ASL Missionary, & I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah County. I've been raised in the church, but have seen both sides of the spectrum as far as religion goes through the diversity in my family. Music is my number one passion! You'll always be able to find me singing, and outside of my missionary service, playing my pink guitar. I have attended 1 1/2 years at a University so far, and hope to come home and continue my education in deaf studies/interpreting. I received my certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant during my senior year in high school and have a very large love for the elderly population, especially those with Alzheimer's Disease or dementia. Currently, I am serving a mission and preaching the gospel in American Sign Language. My purpose is to invite others to come unto Christ & see the light that the fullness of the gospel brings!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it truly brings the greatest, truest happiness that I've ever felt. I have felt my life with and without the gospel, and the comfort that comes with the gospel is what has made me realize that this is the true church in these latter-days. I love having the knowledge that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ loves me, as well as all of us, more than we can comprehend with our mortal minds. They would do anything to see us living a righteous and happy life. I am so grateful for this church, because it has taught me that even though I am not perfect, my Savior sacrificed himself for me so that I can repent and live with him in perfection. He took all of my sins, big or small, upon himself, because he loves me (and us) that much.

How I live my faith

As of right now, I am living my faith through my full-time service as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am called to serve in the New York, New York South Mission - preaching the gospel in American Sign Language. My goal is to invite others to come unto Christ and see the joy that this gospel can bring to you, no matter where you're at in life. I am living my faith my devoting 18 months of my life fully to the Lord...& wow - what joy this service brings!

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is something that one gains through studying the Book of Mormon, prayer, and personal experiences. The Holy Ghost creates the most unique, peaceful, burning feeling within you that is undeniable; it gives you a feeling of truth and knowledge. A testimony is knowing something without having to have physical proof, it is being able to believe something with your whole being and standing by that belief. Show more Show less
