Hi I'm Erica

I'm from Utah, I'm a college student, I'm preparing to serve a mission, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Hi! I'm Erica and I am currently attending college at BYU-Idaho. I am a future missionary and have been called to serve in the Oregon Eugene mission. I leave February 26th and I can't wait to share the gospel with the people of Oregon. I like to play the guitar, play sports, I love football, and most of all I love being with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon my entire life. I have been blessed to be raised in a family where the gospel was taught everyday. Although my entire family was part of the Church, I had to come to know for myself that this gospel was true. Gaining a testimony was a process; it didn't happen in one moment. I began by reading the Book of Mormon and praying about it. I gained a testimony that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know that Joseph Smith saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and that through the power of God, he was able to translate the Book of Mormon. I know that we have a living prophet who has been called to receive revelation for the world. I know that Jesus Christ lives; that He atoned for my sins and the sins of the world. It is only through Him that we are able to return to our heavenly home. I have come to know these things for myself and I am so grateful to have the gospel in my life because of the joy and peace it brings. I want to share the gospel with everyone so that they can feel of that same joy.

How I live my faith

One way I live my faith is by preparing to serve a full-time mission. I can't wait to serve the people in Oregon and share the gospel with them. Currently, I am a family home evening group leader-I help plan lessons and activities once a week for the people I live with to participate in. Outside of my church callings, I live my faith by living the standards of the Church. I am modest in the way I dress, I pay my tithing, I serve my fellow men and I try to set a good example for those around me. I look for the people around me who are in need of a helping hand and I do my best to be more Christ-like everyday.
