Hi I'm Brandon

I am a husband, a father, a professional in leadership, business management, and engineering and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love doing things outdoors. Some of my favorite things to do are go hiking, camping, hunting, fishing, snowshoeing, and pretty much any other thing that allows me to go outside and enjoy the weather. I gained my love for the outdoors growing up in Montana. I spent my summers running around outside in the mountains at my grandparents cabin. I also love sports. Growing up I always had some type of sporting equipment close by at all times. At one point or another I played football, soccer, basketball, hockey, and baseball. I also wrestled in high school and ran track. Sports have been a love of my life for many years. One of my hobbies is blog writing. I created multiple websites, but my main focus is a website called LeadershipDoneRight.com. At that site, I write about how to be a great leader. I am passionate about principle driven leadership. My schooling and profession is in engineering. I work as a supervisor of engineering for a local natural gas distribution company. Above all the things mentioned above, my biggest love in life is my family. I have a wonderful wife and two amazing daughters. They bring more joy to my life than anything else.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a Mormon, but there came a point that I had to decide for myself if I wanted to stay a Mormon. I knew that I must know for myself if the church was true. At that time I knew how much Jesus Christ loved me and that I had a loving Heavenly Father. I knew that they both wanted me to be happy and that true happiness would come only by knowing and living the true gospel of Jesus Christ. I decided to read, study, and pray about the doctrines taught in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I read the Book of Mormon, studied the life of the Prophet Joseph Smith, and then took the most important step to pray to find out for myself if the book and prophet were truly sent by Jesus Christ. After studying and praying, I had the sweet calm and peaceful feeling come over me to let me know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and The Book of Mormon was true. The Book of Mormon is such an amazing book because it teaches about how the people lived and followed God and Jesus Christ on the American continent anciently. Although their challenges were completely different than the challenges today, the basic principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ they followed then are just as applicable today. Each time I read The Book of Mormon, I feel the love of my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving at church and in the community. I have been involved with Boy Scouts of America most of my life and earned my Eagle Scout award at the age of 15. I also enjoy helping the needy and those who are less fortunate. I do that by volunteering at the homeless shelter or food bank when possible. At church I teach a Sunday school class to help people learn the basic principles that Jesus Christ taught. I also volunteer my time to help missionaries for the church teach people about Jesus Christ. My biggest joy comes when I see people accept Jesus Christ as their Savior and then change their life to be in harmony with His teachings.
