Hi I'm Dallas Shipley

Hello my name is Dallas Shipley I’m a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

About Me

Hello my name is Dallas Shipley I’m a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I’m from South Dakota and yes there are more than ten of us that live here. I grew up most of my life in Rexburg Idaho where I played soccer every month of the year! I loved every minute in the Teton mountain range. We would spend hours in the foot hills hunting, fishing, camping you name it we did it. When I turned 17, I moved to South Dakota, Where life turned from play to work. I worked as a Bee keeper for 5 summers and enjoyed every minute! It is exactly what I needed to do for my life to change my life. Now I love playing golf and playing basketball whenever I get a chance. Adaptability is key to my success in life! According to gallop, it is my number 1 strength. Adaptability helps me stay happy because I can find the joy in just about anything.

Why I am a Mormon

My faith means everything to me. I know that I can live with my family forever. It is the most positive thing in my life. It lifts my heart when I fall short. It humbles me when I need a reality check. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the only way to live on earth. It teaches me my purpose every day and I continually learn as I come closer to Christ through living as he would. My religion does not restrict me, but it sets me free from the trials of satins temptations. The world can offer pleasure and fleeting happiness but Christ can offer joy and eternal happiness that lasts. I love being a Mormon!

How I live my faith

When I turned 17, life in Idaho came to an end as my family took up and moved to the plains of South Dakota. This abrupt change was the hardest time of my life. Everything I knew I left behind; I did not want to change the life I had. The gospel of Christ was the one thing that stayed constant in my life. It was a rock and a foundation that is still helping me today. When trials befall us it is our choice whether we stand back up or stay down. Christ has always and will continue to always build me up. Faith is the thought, the action, and the blessing that brings me closer to our father in heaven. He gives me choice called agency that allows me to dictate my future. It is the choices I make in each moment that draws me nearer or further from god. I can chose life eternal as I chose to take upon the name of Christ and live like him and keep his commandments. If we do he will forever bless us with his spirit. I am eternally grateful that I am happy with all the twists and turns of my life. It has shaped me to become the person I am.
