Hi I'm Mika

I love to laugh! I love to smile! I love life! I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I have 8 members in my family if you count our two dogs and my sister's cat. I have amazing parents. I am so lucky to have my mom and dad in my life and I love them very much. I am the middle child of 3. I have a beautiful, strong dedicated older sister, and a very talented, accomplished younger brother. I live out in the country; with poor school districts in our area my siblings and I growing up were home-schooled. I received my GED and have started college at a community college near where I live. I am now putting my education on hold for a greater education as a missionary for 18 months. I love doing crafts and am known in my family for the mess I leave behind as a result of it. You would be surprised how much time I can spend in my creativity with a developed idea, colored paper, stickers, and double-sided sticky tape! I am a journal writer; keeping a journal helps me remember things that I would otherwise forget. I love o play the piano. I was 10 when I started playing, and took lessons for 8 years. I can read music and play classic famous songs with lots of practice, but for now I just play church hymns. I love the spirit the few hymns I can play bring into my life. I love to smile, to laugh, and to have fun!

Why I am a Mormon

I absolutely love my Heavenly Father and my brother, our Savior, Jesus Christ. They are so mindful of me in everything I do. They love me, and I feel their unconditional, infinite love for me everyday. I am a child, a daughter of God! We all have trails and hardships we go through. Life is hard, but challenges and trials are apart of our earthly experience. How can we experience and know the sweet without the bitter? happiness without misery? We are here to be tested, to learn, and to grow so that we can return to live with our Father in Heaven again. How could we progress without trials? My favorite quote that helps me in hard times is: "When life is to hard to stand, kneel." How true this quote is! There are times that I am so overwhelmed and stressed that I feel I can't go on any longer. Times where I have fallen to my knees in despair, tears running down my cheeks as I plead for strength beyond my own in prayer. Prayer is such a precious tool we have to communicate with our loving Heavenly Father. I love to pray, and I know He is always listening. We are never alone. I am so blessed to have and know with a surety that this is true. We are never alone. Christ atoned for us. He suffered for our sins, our temptations, and our afflictions. If this isn't proof of His love for us I don't know what is. In suffering He know's exactly how we feel and through that He knows exactly what we need and how to succor us. We can have and feel an everlasting comfort and peace through repentance and His loving tender mercies. I know the Book of Mormon is true and is the word of God. I have read it and felt for myself the confirmation of it's truthfulness through the Holy Ghost. I love the gospel! I know without a doubt in my mind that it is true and it brings so much happiness in my life!

How I live my faith

I have been called to serve as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Ogden, Utah mission. Mosiah 2:17 in the Book of Mormon says: "when ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are only in the service of your God". Serving others and preparing to be a representative of the Lord in sharing His gospel to others are just some of the many exciting ways I live my faith. I live my faith by trying to be the best I can possibly be. I know I am a daughter of God and to be able to return to live with Him someday depends on me and my actions here on earth. I know the truth and what is expected of me from the Lord. It is my responsibility to follow Christ's example he set, be obedient, keep the commandments, be faithful in all things, and endure to the end. Through Christ's sacrifice and atonement we can be perfect as He is through His grace. Living the Standards set for me as a youth has never once restricted me in any way. The commandments and counsel from our prophet and apostles are not given to hold me back, but to protect me, to keep me clean, and to help pattern and live my life as the Savior once lived. I live my faith by doing what I know what is right and repenting for the things I do wrong.
