Hi I'm Christian Tietjen

I was born in Southern California, but i grew up in Texas. Im a car enthusiast, a Texan, a missionary, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

Well, just a little bit about me. Most people describe me as a walking car encyclopedia, which truly isn't all that far off. To say cars is a hobby would probably be a bit of an understatement. During my teenage years I became fascinated with cars. Everything from how the engines run, to what makes a good car, and even dipping into the field of working on cars. Shortly after i got my first car I realized my passion. I started going online in my spare time reading about cars. I started going to dealerships to look at cars, and I even started advising others on what cars would be best for them. eventually my dad decided one day that he wanted a classic car. This was an area that I didnt know as much about and was eager to learn. He picked out a 1971 chevrolet pickup truck, and together we spent hours upon hours working on it. My favorite time working on it was with my grandpa (who im sure passed down the car gene to me) when we were spending time doing the little things on the engine that really made it look beautiful. Once all the hard work was done, the car went in for painting, and at the same time I left to serve a mission. I was called to the California Anaheim mission. I still have yet to see the truck fully painted and fixed up (just pictures) but I am so greatful for the opportunity i had to spend quality time with my father and grandfather, doing something we enjoy.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for one simple reason...... Because i know that this church is true. In The Book of Mormon, a prophet named Moroni challenges all readers to read from The Book of Mormon. To ponder in their hearts the message it contains, and then to ask God the Eternal Father, if the book is true. I have accepted and completed that challenge. When I asked God if The Book of Mormon was true, I recieved an answer confirming to me that it was. Because I know that The Book of Mormon is true, I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet, seer, and revelator. I know that he restored the priesthood, and the true church of Jesus Christ back to the earth. I know that the current prophet of the church, President Thomas S. Monson is also a prophet, seer, and revelator, and that he leads and guides the Church on the earth today under the direction of our savior Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I am currently a missionary in the California Irivne Mission. Around the time when I hit my year mark on my mission, my mission split. A piece of the Anaheim Misison, and a piece of the Carlsbad Mission was put together to become the new California Irvine mission. It has been really great to see our mission grow from a little over 110 missionaries, to nearly 200! Being able to serve others across Southern Orange County, helping them to receive the gospel has brought so many blessings to my life. It has been incredible to see the light that the gospel brings, illuminate the lives of the people the missionaries come in contact with.
