Hi I'm Jackie

I grew up in Pennsylvania. I attend college. I am a converted Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy reading, walking, knitting and going to flea markets and thrift stores. I find flea markets and thrift stores to be greatly enjoyable because you can almost always find something old and interesting. I enjoy spending time with my friends and going to church functions. I currently attend college. My favorite holiday is Christmas. I love the cheerful spirit of giving and love. Pretty decorations and lights are always a plus.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert of 3 months. Before joining the church I had no faith and no belief in God. I had gone to church with my grandmother as a child and a couple times as I had gotten older, but I never felt that it meant anything. My friend had been working with the missionaries in our area for quite some time and had recently been baptized. One day, another friend and I had been visiting with our newly converted friend and the missionaries stopped by to help her with some yard work. They came inside after they were finished, and I asked them what the difference was between Mormonism and other Christian religions. I must have been prepared by God to be ready to receive their answer because what they said made perfect sense. I felt a connection in my heart to what they were saying and that next Sunday I went to church at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and I have not missed a service since. I regularly began meeting with the missionaries for lessons, I read The Book of Mormon like it was going out of style and shortly after I was baptized. It was like I could not get enough of the reading, and the lessons, and being around the people in church because it all felt so good. I felt happier and more complete than I had ever felt before, and I finally felt like there was purpose in life. I follow the gospel because they are the teachings that are meant to guide me through my life on earth. Christ is my life and without Him life would be purposeless and hopeless. I believe and I know that this is the true church of Christ and that His gospel is true.

How I live my faith

I participate by attending church services regularly and as many functions as I am able to. I try my best to live by the commandments and be a good example to others.
