Hi I'm Michelle

I grew up in Missouri, live in Texas. I'm fascinated by the world around me and I love creating art. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love art and I love creating it. The world is a fascinating place to see. I'm in college working towards my Graphic Arts degree and I hope to one day be working where I love. Photography, singing, reading, and World of Warcraft keep me busy on the side. I've been married for 4 years now and I can't be happier. I was raised Catholic, then in my teens decided I didn't believe in anything. When I met my husband on World of Warcraft, I knew a higher being was at work in my life. We don't have children right now but I know when the time is right it will happen. I don't think I've ever been so happy in all my life than I am right now in this point in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that there is a reason why God has us on this earth today. I know that He has people sent here to lead and guide us on the paths we need to take. From experiencing the feeling of being absolutely unguided, I am so grateful to be a part of a Church that is full of leaders that want nothing more than your good health and well being. I know this church is God's Church on earth. I know that our prophet is a holy man who loves us dearly. I know the leaders of my home church are guided men and women that know and love me as a child of God. I know the Book of Mormon is a true testimony of the people from the Americas that witnessed Christ's coming. I know this church is true when I went from feeling sad and discontent with the world to seeing the beauty in all things.

How I live my faith

I watch over the kids on Wednesday nights for nursery. We usually let them play with toys and just interact with each other. One of my favorite things to do in church is teach the 3 year olds. Nothing beats hearing a child recite the most simple and beautiful prayer about Jesus and Heavenly Father. The children are my favorite to teach and learn from.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

The women I have encountered have been the most uplifting, spiritual women I have ever met. They are strong and courageous but so humble. This church empowers me as a woman. Never have I felt like I've had worth, but here, I feel like I am a beloved daughter of our Heavenly Father. I feel like this church is strengthened by the equal parts of work that men and women do.
