Hi I'm Amy

I like gardening, reading, cross word puzzles, fashion and I'm a Mormon. I'm a happily married mom of three.

About Me

Being a mom has brought me great challenges as well as great joys. My oldest son is on the autism spectrum and learning and working with him has probably helped me know more about myself than anything else ever. My other two children are considered "typical", but if you knew them you'd realize they're anything but. I'm a Democrat in a religion where many of my fellow congregants don't share my political views and sometimes I feel like a square peg in a round hole. Yet through the church I've felt more Christ like love from others than any other place. That love and support sustains me through life's challenges.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised Mormon, but obviously as an adult I am free to choose whether or not I want to continue in the faith. I'm somebody with a lot of questions. Of course not every question can be easily wrapped up and tied with a bow. Continually I wrestle with subjects that don't always gel perfectly with the base of my being. I'm Mormon because belonging to a group of people who are honestly striving to be more like Jesus Christ helps me to grow into the person I want to be.

How I live my faith

In our church everybody places a part. Currently I teach the adult women one Sunday each month. It's a bit daunting since I certainly don't feel that I have all the answers, but it's a good opportunity for me to study and learn about Christ. I'm also grateful for the opportunity to be able to become a better teacher. Through the church I've taught three year olds, 13 year olds, senior citizens and everything in between. You certainly have to hone different skills for different age groups.
