Hi I'm Jessica

I like to sing and dance. I love the outdoors. I drive a green VW bus. I am a daughter, sister, student, friend and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am currently a senior studying business at BYU. I like having dance parties, chips-and-salsa parties, and cereal parties (pretty much I really just like being with people and those three "parties" can get almost anyone involved, ha). I love singing, dancing, hiking, kayaking, camping and trying new things. I really love the rain too. Some of my favorite memories involve sitting on the front porch with my family, eating graham crackers in milk, and watching the rain pour for hours. But most of all I love being with the people that I love. My family: mom, dad, tyty, daydo, twinny, monkey chicken and myself. We have a lot of fun together, and I am so grateful I get them forever. I am also really grateful for all the really great friends I have. So yes, sometimes I eat cereal for multiple meals a day because I am a "starving college student", and sometimes my laundry sits clean in the basket for a couple days, and sometimes I forget to floss... but, overall? I think I've got it pretty good.

Why I am a Mormon

I was lucky to be born into a family who knew, lived, and loved the gospel. Though they were an incredible influence on me and helped create an environment where the spirit could teach, that is not the only reason I'm a Mormon. I am a Mormon because of the personal, continual manifestations that this gospel and church are true. Plus, I LOVE feeling the spirit. It has been through lots of trying and troubling times that I have found refuge from my Savior Jesus Christ. On the other hand, it has been because of my Savior Jesus Christ that I have experienced some of my greatest joys. I have a firm testimony that the Lord lives, that he restored his church for our day through the prophet Joseph Smith, and that He continues to lead and guide us through modern revelation. "I know my Savior lives, and love me too"

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by obediently doing the small things. Reading my scriptures, praying consistently, serving in my community and church callings, paying tithing, following the word of wisdom, etc. In the end I feel like these small things really make all the difference; because when I do these things I feel the spirit enter my life more fully. The spirit helps me understand my Savior's Atonement and that through his eternal gift I can change to be something even better.
