Hi I'm Sarah Freeman.

I'm an Elementary Education major at BYU. I'm a singer. I'm a sister. I'm a daughter. I'm a friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 20 year old BYU student studying Elementary Education. I have dreamed of being a teacher since I was a little girl, and working towards fulfilling that goal every day is so amazing and rewarding. I grew up in beautiful Northern Virginia in the suburbs of DC. I love my home, and I visit every chance I get. I love to sing and take advantage of every opportunity to perform. I sing in the BYU Women's Chorus and love every minute of it. I am the oldest of four blonde-haired girls who just so happen to be my best friends. Sometimes it's hard to live so far away from them,fi but I'm so grateful for technology that allows us to talk all the time! In my spare time, I love to read, write, watch TV and movies, and spend time with family and friends! Finally, I LOVE being a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

There are so many reasons why I am a Mormon. First of all, I am a Mormon because my dad's close high school friend had the courage to share the Gospel with him. He allowed my dad to take the missionary discussions in this home, which eventually led to his baptism. When he met my mom, he was worthy to take her to the temple, where they were married and sealed for time and all eternity. This means that even when my parents pass away, they will still be married. This also means that our family will be sealed together forever. Even when we return to live with our Father in Heaven, we will still be a family. I know that I can follow in their footsteps someday if I continue to live worthily. I am a Mormon because I know my Savior lives. I know that he suffered for the sins everyone who has lived, lives now, and who will ever live. This means that we can be forgiven of our sins and be made clean through repentance. I know that he suffered for every burden we will ever face, and is our truest friend. I am a Mormon because I know that the Lord has spoken through prophets in the scriptures and that he continues to speak through Thomas S. Monson, our living prophet on the Earth today. I know that Joseph Smith restored this true church to the Earth. Finally, I am a Mormon because the confirmation that I have received that this faith is true is undeniable.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by relying on the Lord every day. I pray each morning when I wake up and each evening before I go to bed. I express gratitude for all of the blessings that he's given me and ask for help to face the challenges that life brings. I read my scriptures every day. I have received confirmation that the words contained in the scriptures truly were written by the Lord through his servants, and they provide me with guidance and comfort. I also read the messages delivered by a living prophet and apostles who I know are the voice of the Lord. I attend church every Sunday. In addition, I am given assignments from my bishop that I fulfill. I have directed the church choir, planned weekly group activities in both high school and college, played the piano for meetings, and directed hymns during church. I live my faith by striving to follow the example of Jesus Christ every day. When Jesus Christ was on the Earth, he went out of his way to serve those around him and make them feel loved. He put others first and he loves us unconditionally. I try to become more and more like him every day. I am far from perfect, but I try as hard as I can!
