Hi I'm Kristy Freeman

I am a wife and the mother of four beautiful daughters. I grew up in the Washington DC area. I'm a Mormon

About Me

My family has been member of the Church since Pioneer days. I love listening to the stories may dad tells of our pioneer ancestors. I think this knowledge helps our family to have a greater understanding of where they came from and the sacrifices our ancestors made. I love spending time with my family. I am very involved in their activities. I manage their summer swim team and am a Vice President of our high school's Choir Booster's organization. My daughters all love to sing and perform and we are so blessed to have a school with an awesome performing arts department. I also love Christmas. I love everything about it. The lights, the decorations, the music, and the spirit of love and friendship. I am always a little sad when we have to put the decorations away each year. I have always tried to create family traditions around the holiday. We love to go and see the Christmas light displays. Our favorite each year is the display at the Washington DC Temple of the church. We will attend a concert in the Visitors Center, and then just walk around the Temple grounds and enjoy the lights and feel the spirit. I have always made a point to focus our celebrations on the Savior. One of my favorites parts of Christmas is our families Christmas Eve celebrations. After dinner we all gather in the living room. We sing Christmas Carols, the children re-enact the Nativity story, and we read the account of the nativity in Luke.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, but I still had to develop my own testimony. I love the gospel and I know that the Church is truly Jesus Christ's church here on the earth. It is so comforting to have Prophet at the head of the church. I know that the Prophet receives revelation for the church. I feel that I have been taught to live in a way that will make me happy and bring joy to my family. When we live our lives as the Savoir taught we will have true joy in this life. I know that I have a Father in Heaven who knows me and loves me. He is aware of my needs and will help me when I ask.

How I live my faith

I have always been a strong member of the church. I have had many opportunities to serve. I love when I have the opportunity to work with the Youth and young children in our Ward. Right now I am working with our 18 month to 3 year old children. It is so fun to interact with them each week, and to begin to teach them about the gospel. At home I am constantly teaching my family how to live the Gospel and how to be a good example to those around them. I am so thankful each time I see my children make good choices. I have seen many times in my children's lives where they have had to make tough decisions in order to stand up for what they believe.
