Hi I'm Stephanie

I'm a writer, editor, and avid movie watcher. I like to eat, play video games, and sing loudly. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I struggled learning to read in Kindergarten, but ever since I did it successfully, I have loved to read books, and so that has influenced what I want to do with my life. I wrote my first book when I was in fourth grade. I am currently in college studying editing and writing a slightly more sophisticated novel. I love to spend time with my family. I love to watch movies. I love to bake and eat. I have only been out of the United States once, but visiting the UK was one of the best times of my life. I love to see how people in different cultures live the same religion. I am also studying other religions of the world in one of my college courses and I find other faiths fascinating. In high school, I participated in art club, creative writing, NHS, and softball. I have always been a bit of an introvert, and so I recharge when I have time to be alone. But I enjoy being part of a community, feeling like I do something good for other people and belong somewhere.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the Church. Some people stay a member because they just get comfortable in the religion, but I have had enough exposure to other views that I have really had the opportunity to consider the things that I believe spiritually. I believe in a loving Heavenly Father who has a created a plan for us to come back to live with Him again and partake of all that He has. Being a member of the Church is how I show my love for God and His son, Jesus Christ. It helps me to develop personal relationships with Them, which in turn helps me to live my life satisfactorily.

How I live my faith

I feel that faith is a very personal thing, not only to be lived in a church setting. I contemplate spiritual things randomly, when I see something beautiful or hear someone say something with a perspective that I have never thought of before. But living my faith with other people has enhanced my experience. I have served as a youth leader when I was a teenager, which definitely helped me to sharpen my leadership skills and learn to associate with people with all types of personalities. I currently serve on the activities committee, where I get to help plan and execute monthly activities. It's great being able to plan activities where people can come and enjoy themselves and make new friends.
