Hi I'm Laurel

I grew up in Los Angeles. I love traveling, playing sports and learning new things. I love my family and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a graduate of Brigham Young University. I studied Elementary Education and I am currently working as a Math teacher and technology assistant at an Elementary school near by. I am keeping an eye out for future education and working opportunities. I love helping others, family, friends and strangers alike! I also love learning about other cultures and I enjoy music and sports. I currently live in Utah but I grew up in Southern California. I love the diversity of these two places and they both have great things to offer. I miss the beach a lot, so whenever I make it home I put visiting the beach as my top place to go! I have traveled around the States and Europe with my family and I served an LDS mission in the Philippines. Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I know that Christ truly is our Savior. I know He lived and died for us. I know that God has an eternal plan for each one of us and the peace I receive from living God's laws is so real, it testifies that God lives and loves us. I want to follow Christ by living a good honest life built around the principles of Faith, Repentance, Baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and continual obedience to God's commandments, that is what Christ did and who He was. That is what I want to become to find joy and give glory to God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by living the gospel of Jesus Christ. I put my trust in Him by keeping His commandments and following His example in loving and serving others. I also pray to God with gratitude and ask Him about questions that I have.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

In order to enter a temple you need to have been baptized through the proper authority, live God's commandments, and have been interviewed and found worthy by church leaders. In temples we are able to learn more about God and make special promises with Him that will allow our families to be together forever. I feel so much peace whenever I visit the temple. I know this is because of the spirit that we find there. People talk in quiet voices and we can reflect on our faith, the trials we are dealing with and how God can help us reach our potential and how we can help others reach their potential. This adds to the peace because I am reminded that God can help me with all things that I struggle with and that Christ's Atonement is really the only way that anyone will be able to overcome struggles, sins and weaknesses.
