Hi I'm Erika

I love running, being around people, and learning and sharing what I know. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've moved a lot throughout my life. I'm currently LDSSA president at my university. I love running, jump roping, and working out. I also like to cook. I love being around people. I think hanging out with good friends can cure almost any problem.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in this church and I know it's true. I have felt the Spirit testify to me the truth of this gospel. I have read The Book of Mormon and I know that it is the word of God. The church just makes sense. If I wasn't a member of this church, I can't even imagine what my life would be like.

How I live my faith

In the past I have been president of the 16-18 year old girls. I loved serving them and taking care of their needs, developing a closer relationship with them. I currently teach the 7 and 8 year olds at church. I love helping them learn and I'm always surprised at how much they know. I am also on the institute council as well as LDSSA (Latter-day Saint Student Association) president on my campus. I enjoy telling others about the church and inviting them to our many activities. I enjoy doing service projects around the community or just volunteering for events around town.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

Heavenly Father loves each and every one of His children. However, He did ordain marriage to be between a man and a women. Anything else is contrary to His laws. We each have our trials or struggles in life to do what is right and to avoid what is wrong. Every person struggles with different challenges. Some of God's children struggle with attraction to the same gender. Just as any other temptation, it needs to be turned away from. It may be difficult, but as those who struggle turn to prayer and scripture study, they can overcome anything. Show more Show less
