Hi I'm Krista Whatcott

I grew up in Illinois, USA. I love ballroom dancing and am currently attending college to study dance. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a twenty year old girl attending college. I have a passion for dance and for people. I am incredibly committed to competitive ballroom dancing and practice for hours every single day. I hope to compete professionally and coach ballroom. I like to cook healthy foods and live an active lifestyle. Shopping is one of my favorite hobbies. I love hanging out with my friends.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was younger I wondered if God REALLY knew who I was. How could He pick me out of a crowd? Or know how I was feeling? As I was reading my scriptures I felt a strong heavenly assurance that He knew all my happiness, all my sadness, all my weakness, all my strengths, and He loved me beyond measure. The greatest truth that I love about the doctrine of our church is that we are children of our Heavenly Father and he knows us very personally. He is a part of our DAILY lives and can participate in every SECOND of our day if we invite Him into our life. I know that by allowing Him to be a part of my life and not just my church service or prayers, I can become a better person because He can help me overcome my weaknesses. I have found so much strength in the teachings of our church. Sometimes I can be really hard on myself when I make mistakes. It's not easy to always do the right thing. But I know that we were born here in mortality to have our spiritual strength tested and we can't expect ourselves to be perfect. But, I know that God, the perfect being, can help us accomplish anything if we work with Him. I love this. By myself I can expect to accomplish very little in this life, but with God I desire to and have additional strength to strive to achieve everything.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday because I want to learn. I don't stop there. During the week I pray to my Father in Heaven thanking him for blessings he has given me or asking for his advice when I encounter hard times in life. I want to be a follower of Christ and help others to feel His love so I earnestly work hard to live in a way that will uplift others and help them find the strength in Christ that I do.
