Hi I'm Daniel Schwicht

I grew up in Alaska, I love people, and I'm studying to be a civil engineer.

About Me

I like drawing, reading, and noodling on the ukulele. I try to take every cool opportunity, and it makes my life better.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 17, I questioned all of the things I'd been taught my whole life. I wanted to know for sure that the things the church taught were true. I knew that if the Book of Mormon were true, it would mean that God is real, that He loves me, and that Jesus Christ is His Son. It would mean that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the kingdom of God established on the earth. I read from the Book of Mormon and asked God in prayer if it was true every day. One night, I felt the Holy Ghost, as I was praying. It was a peaceful feeling, and I knew that the answer to each of those questions was "yes." I felt a little bit of God's love for me. I know, because I've seen in my own life and in the lives of others, that God really does care about us. Jesus Christ is the Savior, and because of what He did, we can change and be forgiven and feel peace and purpose.

How I live my faith

I try to follow Jesus Christ, and reading the scriptures and praying every day helps me keep that goal in mind. That helps me see opportunities to help people. I also teach a group of men my age a Sunday school class, talking about how we can apply the teachings of Christ and His Prophets in our everyday lives.
